ABBA Hen Party FAQs

Do we need to know the dances already?

Absolutely not! Our York instructors specialize in teaching ABBA choreography to complete beginners. We'll start with simple Waterloo marches and build up to full Dancing Queen routines. Whether you're a Yorkshire native or visiting our historic city for your hen weekend, you'll be channeling Agnetha and Frida in no time. The joy of ABBA is that it's all about having fun - no Eurovision-level perfection required!

What ABBA songs will we dance to?

All the ABBA gold! From 'Dancing Queen' to 'Mamma Mia,' 'Waterloo' to 'Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!' - we've got every floor-filler that made ABBA legends. Our York instructors mix the mega-hits with deeper cuts like 'Voulez-Vous' and 'Super Trouper.' We even throw in some surprise Mamma Mia musical numbers! Our premium sound system in our York studios will transport you straight to 1970s Stockholm. Special requests? Just say 'I Do, I Do, I Do!'

Should we dress up in ABBA costumes?

YES PLEASE! Channel your inner Dancing Queen with platform boots, flared trousers, and ALL the sequins! Past York hen parties have gone full Eurovision with catsuits, knee-high boots, and those iconic 70s headbands. The vintage shops on Fossgate are perfect for finding bell-bottoms and sparkly tops. Whether you go full ABBA tribute or Mamma Mia beach chic, more is more! Pro tip: Coordinate your hen squad - one Agnetha, one Frida, one Björn, one Benny = perfection!

Is this suitable for all ages?

Absolutely! ABBA transcends generations - from those who danced to it first time round to millennials who discovered it through Mamma Mia! Our York instructors adapt every routine for different abilities. We've had 70-year-old Dancing Queens showing up the twentysomethings! It's especially magical for multi-generational hen parties visiting York - three generations singing 'Thank You for the Music' together is pure gold. ABBA truly is the soundtrack that unites us all!
